Pogrom

Drawing on recent Soviet history, author Aleksander Shaginyan recreates the three days in 1988 when the Azerbaijanis wreaked a savage attack on the Armenians of Sumgait. This is not a neutral report on the massacre in Sumgait – it is not written of coolly detached reason, but of a heartrending passion for the subject.
